Coconut chutney

coconut chutney

This is a simple home to home found recipe in south India. Still I thought of sharing it.

Ingredients:

  • Grated coconut or coconut pieces(துருவிய தேங்காய்/தேங்காய் சில்லுகள்)
  • Green chilly(பச்சை மிளகாய்)
  • Garlic(பூண்டு)-2 pod
  • Ginger(இஞ்சி)
  • Small onion(சின்ன வெங்காயம்)-1
  • Roasted gram(பொறி கடலை)
  • Curry leaves(கருவேப்பிலை)
  • Oil
  • Mustard seed
  • Urad dal

Method:

Take all the ingredients. (தேவையான பொருட்களை எடுக்கவும்)

Put all the ingredients in the mixer and goring to coarse paste by adding little water. Add salt to it.(அனைத்தையும் மிக்ஸியில் போட்டு சிறிது தண்ணீர் சேர்த்து அரைத்துக் கொள்ள வேண்டும். உப்பு சேர்த்து கொள்ளவும்).

Transfer it to serving bowl. (அரைத்த விழுதை பாத்திரத்தில் மாற்றவும்).

To season, keep a small pan and add a tspn of oil. Once it gets heat add Mustard seed, urad dal and Curry leaves. Let all splutter. Pour over the pasted coconut. (தாளிப்பு: ஒரு சட்டியில் 1 tspn எண்ணெய் ஊற்றி கடுகு, உளுத்தம் பருப்பு, கருவேப்பிலை சேர்த்து தாளித்து எடுக்கவும். தாளிப்பை அரைத்த விழுதுடன் சேர்க்கவும்).

You can have coconut chutney for idli , dosa, chapathi , puri, rice, appam and for anything and everything. You all will love it.
