This is a regular lunch box special. Potato fry was an all time favorite lunch menu I loved during my school and college days. Even now my hus and mukul loves it.

Ingredients :

  • Potatoes- cubed
  • Mustard seeds
  • Chana dal
  • Urad dal
  • Garlic – 4 cloves
  • Curry leaves
  • Turmeric powder
  • Garam masala
  • Chilly powder
  • Pepper powder
  • Oil

Method:

Cube the potatoes into small pieces and soak it in water.

Take a thick bottomed pan and add 2 tbspn oil in it.

Add Mustard seeds.

Once it sputters add Chana and urad dal.

Add curry leaves.

Add crushed garlic.

Once garlic gets fried, Add the potatoes. Be careful because oil may splash on you.

Add turmeric powder and salt as per your taste.

Let it fry for 8 minutes in high flame and then simmer it.

Once the potatoes get cooked well add half tspn of pepper powder, garam masala and chilly powder. And saute well till the raw smell goes off.

Potato fry is ready to be packed in box.
